Who we are

Springline Excavating LLC (“Springline”, “we”, “us”) operates the website springlinex.com. Our office is located at 32945 Folsom Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48336. You can reach us at info@springlinex.com or (313) 491-6688. This policy explains what information we collect through the website and in response to it, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Information you give us

The website has no contact form, account sign-up or online store. Apart from our online job application (see “Job applicants”), the information we receive from you is what you choose to send when you call or email us from the details listed on the site. Depending on why you contact us, that usually includes your name, company, phone number, email address and the details of your request, such as:

• a project or service inquiry, including the project location and scope;
• a bid, quote or proposal sent to our estimator, including any plans, specifications or pricing you attach;
• an inquiry about used equipment we have listed for sale;
• questions about an open position.

We keep what you send so we can respond and, where it leads to work, for our project and business records.

Job applicants

If you apply for a job, we collect the information you provide on the application. That typically includes your name, address, phone number, email address, the position and pay you are seeking, your work history (including why you left past jobs), education, licenses and certifications, references, and anything else you choose to include. If driving is part of the job, the application also asks for your driver’s license details, driving record and auto insurance status. Applications are signed, and an applicant under 18 also needs the signature of a parent or legal guardian.

You can apply online from our Employment Opportunities page, bring a printed application to our office, or email it to us.

Our online application is hosted by Jotform, an online form service. When you fill it out you are on Jotform’s website, and the information you enter, including your electronic signature and any files you upload, is collected and stored by Jotform on our behalf and made available to us. Jotform also receives technical information from your browser, such as your IP address, and may use cookies on its form pages. Jotform’s privacy policy at jotform.com/privacy also applies.

We use application information only to evaluate you for employment and to contact you about your application. It is seen only by the people at Springline involved in hiring.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we receive technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, the page that referred you, and the date and time of your visit. Our hosting provider records this in server logs, which are used for security, troubleshooting and keeping the site running.

We do not use analytics or advertising services on this website, we do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.

Google Maps

Our Contact page includes an embedded Google Map showing our office. The map loads only when you scroll to it. When it loads, your browser connects to Google, and Google may receive your IP address and set its own cookies according to its privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. We do not receive any information from Google about your use of the map.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• respond to your inquiry by phone or email;
• review bids, quotes and proposals and manage the projects they relate to;
• handle inquiries about equipment we have for sale;
• evaluate job applications and contact applicants;
• keep the website secure, prevent abuse, and diagnose problems;
• keep business, tax and legal records and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Who we share information with

We use trusted service providers to run the website and the business. They process your information only to provide their services to us:

• Vercel, which hosts the website and processes its server logs;
• Microsoft, which provides our business email, and our email security provider, which screens incoming messages for spam and malware;
• Google, for the map on our Contact page;
• Jotform, which hosts our online employment application and stores the applications submitted through it.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or safety or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.

Cookies

The public website does not set cookies of its own. Google may set cookies when the map on our Contact page loads, and Jotform may set cookies on our online application, as described above. Our staff-only administration area uses a session cookie to keep staff signed in; visitors to the public site never receive it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without affecting your use of the public site.

How long we keep information

We keep emails and the information in them for as long as needed to respond to you and complete any resulting work, and afterwards for as long as needed for project, business, tax and legal records. We keep job applications, whether on paper, by email or in our Jotform account, for as long as required by employment record-keeping laws, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case a suitable position opens. Server logs are kept according to our hosting provider’s standard retention periods. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see “Your choices and rights”), subject to records we are legally required to keep.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for the website and our online application, password-protected access to our administration area, and access controls on our business systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Email is not always encrypted in transit, so please do not email us highly sensitive information such as a Social Security number.

Children

The website is intended for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

You can:

• ask us what personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct or delete it;
• ask us to withdraw a job application;
• block or delete cookies in your browser.

To make a request, email info@springlinex.com or call (313) 491-6688. We will verify your identity before acting on a request. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, and you will not be treated differently for exercising them.

Links to other sites

The website links to Google Maps, our Facebook page and, when offered, our online employment application on Jotform. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of the website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
